lyrics
What is this pain
That we wear
An undisguised
Cloak of despair
That sinks deep within our soul
A mountain so fierce
That swallows us whole
An endless peak
Lost amongst the clouds
Seeking for forgiveness
Never to be found
As it brings us down and burns us
Let the bloodied knife sink into our eyes
It lingers in our blood and turns us
As servants of suffering we now rise
We now rise…
These maniacal chains
That surround our fate
A desolate path
That we create
Leaving our footprints on what we’ve left behind
Lost beneath the folds of time
Hidden curiosities we walk blindly toward
Full of fear like a sharpened sword
Cutting our weakness of flesh
Cutting deep to the truth of our soul
These maniacal chains
That surround our fate
A desolate path
That we create
(Solo – Aston)
These maniacal chains
That surround our fate
A desolate path
That we create
I cannot hold back the fear
My mind a book loosing page by page
Rage so ripe yet so not right
Alone in this wilderness, a barren cage
What conclusion will it take
To push me to the other side
To let me be free, free of mistakes
That I can no longer hide
What is this pain
That we wear
An undisguised
Cloak of despair
As it brings us down and burns us
Let the bloodied knife sink into our eyes
It lingers in our blood and turns us
As servants of suffering we now rise
As servants of suffering we now rise

Mikolaj is a real multi-talent in bass as well as guitar as well as vocals and "Darkside" Maciej's drumming is a well-calibrated 100th-of-seconds-clockwork. Not for nothing is Mgla considered as a standard for a lot of other blacker-than-black metal bands. I hope to see this band live once..... grote_smurf

An outstanding Extreme doom death album, in the best tradition. The funerary atmosphere reminds of Evoken ('Centuries of ooze" bears striking similarities, for my delight). It is overall sharp, dark, hypnotic and unrelenting. One of those rare convincing new bands that hold proud the legacy of the biggest names. Bertrand Marchal
